Waterfall Hike
Waterfalls - waterfalls. All over the place !
Hiking boots with non-skid soles, T-shirts, swimming shorts, waterproof bags for cameras, sun-screen, and drinking water are all advisable. Advance notice is needed to get a guide.
Pohnpei, one of the wettest places on earth, has georgeous waterfalls all over the island.
The trailhead is in Salapwuk, a small village near the center of the island. The trek to the falls is referred to as the “six waterfall hike.”
The trail is rugged and makes for a grueling hike. You cross streams with moss-covered rocks, hike up and down steep hills, and do some swimming to reach Lipwen Tiak, the last fall in the series.
