Pohnpei: 2,500 miles from Honolulu and 850 miles from Guam.
Continental Airlines 737 flights land seven times a week.

Pohnpei, the capital of the Federated States of Micronesia is called the Garden Island because everything is so lush and green. It's a volcanic island with a 129 sq mi. area, and an elevation of 2,200 feet. Pohnpei and eight outer islands make up the state.

Kolonia, with 6,000 residents, is the main town on Pohnpei. Here is where shoppers will find handicraft at the Porakiet village carvers and at Joy Restaurant.
The road from Kolonia to the Village is at bottom right. A car can drive there in 15 minutes.

Pohnpei is a haven for travelers, those who don't like islands that are over-run by tourists.
People who like the same comfortable feeling you get at home, are glad they stayed at the Village.

Ant (Ahnd) Atoll is well worth a visit. It's a beautiful atoll, covered in coconut trees, with white sand beaches all around the atoll islands.

The dive spots at Ant Atoll are very nice and there are walls covered in soft and hard corals. We also got to see turtles, barracudas, sharks and eagle rays there. The beach on Ant Atoll is just amazing and perfectly represents the island dream; white sand, blue water and lots of coconut trees.
