This barrel begins in cold weather storms in Japan, Siberia and Alaska.
It breaks in the reef passes, and can be 12 to 14 feet high.
The wave gets to Pohnpei in November and lasts until May. A boat and well-qualified driver is at either the Pohnpei Surf Club, or at the Village.
The Pohnpei Surf Club has rooms available, or you may prefer to stay in a bungalow at the Village.
